Ny utvikling av blysaken.
Oppdatering pr. 31.01.2026.
Det virker som EU nå har konkludert når det gjelder blydeponi på skytebaner.
Vi har fått en beskjed fra Balazs som sier følgende:
Dear fellow Delegates,
I would like to inform you about the current status of the EU lead ban. The REACH Committee of the European Commission had a meeting in December, and I am happy to inform you that the permanent derogation for our arms is still in the modification meaning both sportshooting and hunting use are safe so far:
«35. By way of derogation, paragraphs 27, 28, 29, 33 and 34 shall not apply to the use and placing on the market of gunshot, or to the use of bullets, for muzzle-loading guns and historic firearms, including their modern replicas.»
“modern replica” means a reproduction of a historical firearm, made with contemporary materials and manufacturing techniques, which closely follows the design and functionality of the original historical firearm.»
“historical firearms” means firearms manufactured before 1st January 1900.»
This means that not only muzzle loaders but also black powder cartridge firearms are saved so far thanks to our united efforts. There is also a great improvement regarding shotgun ranges. We managed to erase the 15 year sunset date for the use of lead shot. Now if the range meets certain risk management criterias it will be possible to carry on using lead shot between 1.9-2.6 mm without a sunset date.
There was only one nation in the REACH Committee that opposed the derogation for all historical arms: Denmark. The country’s REACH representative pointed out the «the place of historical firearms is in the museum». I would like to kindly ask the delegate of Denmark to get in touch with the REACH representatives of your country, and tell them who we are and what we do. It was a tough job to get to this point, it is really important to keep these positive results for the last phase of the discussions.
Many thanks!
Balázs Nemeth
